So, this weekend my step dad’s best friend came to stay with us because he was the guest preacher at our church’s Men’s Day Service. Because of this, I had to sleep in the den -___- lol. When he got here, he said he wanted to go to the library. I thought that was a little odd. But he went out around Atlanta by himself but somehow ended up at the Martin Luther King Center where he got more than the library. He told us he felt blessed to be in the presence of the legacy of a great man. He found it interesting that there were more white people at the center than black people. He said God spoke to him and told him to pray with a white man there. I went out with him and my family later on and he was just so amazed at the city. I was glad that we could provide him with an atmosphere he was enjoying. Later that night, I found myself in the den by myself. That’s where I made my last post about how I realized how God can speak to you. Today I realized sometimes you have to take yourself out of a place that you’re used to so that you can have new revelations. Atmosphere is everything.
Atmosphere is everything
On Sunday, his message was entitled “Will the Real God Men Please Stand Up” in which he talked about how men of God, particularly black men, need to start standing up and doing positive things. Although the message was geared toward men, it also spoke to me. One thing he mentioned was how he had been enjoying his time here and that we had the spirit of hospitality. It was his first time in Atlanta for a long period of time; He is from Pennsylvania. He also said that he loved how the church was full of warmth. When a church is cold, sometimes you don’t even feel welcomed. I believe that God sent him here, to a new atmosphere, to reveal some things that would help him. And I was also blessed that because of him I allowed God to speak to me in a new place. This is why I believe atmosphereis everything.
Idk how my blog got so spiritual lol but I’m still “a work in progress.”
