If you don’t know by now – I got engaged in Mexico during my birthday trip! It’s actually how we started our vacation.
As we were packing, TJ mentioned having a photo shoot and wanted to know what we should wear – this is when I became a bit suspicious, but I just brushed it off. Once we made it to Cancun and checked in to our favorite resort, we went to find the photographer to set up our appointment. Luckily she had availability that day and she told us to come back in about an hour. So we had time to check out a pool party and get changed.
The photographer was sooo nice – she helped us make use of the scenery and helped with our poses. After we had taken a few shots around the beach, she asked where else did we want to go. TJ replied, “How about this pier over here?” So we got into our positions on the pier – meanwhile, a boat full of people come by and they’re yelling at us to kiss. At the same time, he hands his phone to the photographer. She says, “It’s on video,” and he responds, ” I know”. So he comes back over to me as if he’s posing behind me. That’s when he says my name and gets down on one knee. I instantly turn around and start laughing and crying simultaneously (typical me). I was in shock even though I had somewhat of a feeling. The people on the boat are screaming, “Yes, yes, yes!” and the photographer is in shock, too, because he didn’t tell her. I have no idea if I verbally said “yes” but I feel like I did inside.
