Two weeks ago (yes, I’m late) I had a chance to visit Cherokee, NC with my boyfriend for one of his co-worker’s birthdays. I used to visit this place when I was younger with my family. If you don’t know, Cherokee is in the western part of North Carolina, in the mountains, on the borders of Georgia and Tennessee. The Cherokee Indian Reservation is also there and it’s most popular for the Harrah’s Casino. You can see a bit of the inside below:
The casino has been remodeled since I visited some years ago. It’s really nice on the inside!
We ate at Brio (it was my first time) and it was absolutely delicious!
I got the Chicken Milanese which is crispy Romano chicken, herb pasta, fresh Mozzarella, housemade Pomodoro sauce!
I’m not much of a gambler so my favorite part of the trip was actually hiking!
And this was on our hike – Soco Falls, so pretty! This made me want to start hiking more.
Before leaving, we had breakfast at Peter’s Pancakes & Waffles – a popular breakfast spot in the area. These blueberry pancakes were everything (I may have to make some soon).
If you ever get a chance, visit Cherokee, NC. It’s not much of a party place but it’s interesting because of the history and you’ll love the beautiful scenery! It’s a nice little getaway.
